Investing in Therapy is Investing in Yourself

So, you need a budget.

The work needs to be sustainable

I recommended using a budgeting app that looks back at past expenses, creates categories, and shows previous spending habits to see what you can afford without making changes to your spending habits or if some spending (or new budgeting) is needed. The app I use in my own life is Rocket Money

I like that Rocket Money helps me track my spending categories, gives me live updates on what's left in my budget categories for the month, and has other features that helps me manage and reduce impulse shopping and spending. It also lets me track subscriptions that I've forgotten about or that came from a free-trial I forgot to close in time.

This information is provided as a suggestion, not a requirement for services. I do not have any business or personal relationship with Rocket Money beyond using it and liking it in my own life. I do not share referral codes and do not personally benefit from this referral in any way beyond encouraging clients to be more informed and updated about their budgeting, spending, and financial wellness. Out-of-Network psychotherapy (and any other type of out-of-network care) can be expensive, especially without (or before) out-of-network coverage/benefits. Please also know that I am not responsible for how Rocket Money accessing and stores your data. I have not access to your Rocket Money account. I am not liable for any mistakes they make in presenting, storing, and maintaining your information and the security of your accounts with and linked to them.

Alternatives to Rocket Money and a comparison between them can be found at this Forbes Advisor page; while I do not financially benefit in any way from using this link or links from this Forbes Advisor page, Forbes Advisor does earn a commission from links through their page.

You could also use good-old pencil and paper to track your spending over the past few weeks/months and see what works for you. However you decide to track your spending, it's an important first step before an intake.
